Mass Balance

Mass balance is a key method for enabling the transition to fossil-free transport within Frigoscandia’s operations. The method is used to track the fuel mix and ensure that total inputs and outputs are balanced. Frigoscandia’s mass balance model allows customers to purchase fossil-free road transport by allocating a share of the fossil-free fuel mix to their transports.
This means that when customers choose fossil-free transport solutions, they are credited with the amount of fossil-free fuel required for their transports. Dedicated allocation of fossil-free fuel volumes ensures that these are not sold to multiple customers, which is particularly important within our co-loading transport operations.
