Dachser acquires Frigoscandia<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Mutares and Dachser have signed an agreement to sell all shares in Frigoscandia AB and its subsidiaries. Frigoscandia will thus become part of the global logistics company Dachser. The divestment is subject to approval from competition authorities.<\/p>\n

Frigoscandia is the market leader in temperature-controlled food logistics in the Nordic region and operates a strong nationwide network in Sweden as well as an international network with subsidiaries in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and the Netherlands. The company is a full-service provider of warehousing and transport services to customers in the food industry, including wholesale and retail businesses.<\/p>\n

Dachser, a family-owned company headquartered in Kempten, Germany, provides transport logistics, warehousing, and customized services in two business fields: Dachser Air & Sea Logistics and Dachser Road Logistics. Since the 1980s, Dachser has established a dedicated temperature-controlled food logistics network in Germany which was later expanded to further European countries. An important step was the foundation of the European Food Network in 2013, where Dachser and its partners cover 34 countries. Through the acquisition, Dachser now improves its access to the Nordic markets through Frigoscandia’s high market presence and strong transport and warehouse infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Frigoscandia is very positive about the change of ownership, which is the natural next step in the company’s long-term strategy. The management team, together with Mutares, has worked purposefully to give Frigoscandia a long-term and development-oriented owner in the industry to support the next phase of the company’s business plan.<\/p>\n

Since 2019, Frigoscandia has been a strategic partner to Dachser in the EFN network (European Food Network) operating the temperature-controlled groupage traffic in the Nordic region. The acquisition provides opportunities to refine the already established collaboration, where Frigoscandia’s strong network in the Nordic region will be more closely linked to a global platform.<\/p>\n
