Pre-cooling instruction:

  • Pre-cooling is important to quickly receive a correct temperature in the unit after loading and during transport
  • Always pre-cool your units to chilled or freezing temperature when loading from a temperature controlled area
  • When starting pre-cooling, remember to place the thermo wall up at the back of the unit before closing the back doors. After arriving at the correct gate and when loading is about to start, only then the thermo wall should be removed.

Instructions:

  • Always contact the terminal office before connecting to the loading dock
  • Check that the gate sealings closes properly around the unit after connecting to the loading dock
  • When the unloading/loading is finished, remember to close the gate of the loading dock

Instructions:

  • Check if correct temperature and labeling, no visible damages, correct number of pallets/transport packages
  • Sign the CMR with readable name and date after checking the goods
  • If there are any deviations – inform the sender and note the deviations on the CMR
  • When driving for Frigoscandia, every driver must have an approved and calibrated thermometer at hand to be able to measure the temperature at the time of loading and upon discharge, so they can do their own measuring in case of a deviations. Thermometers can be ordered from torbjorn.svensson@frigoscandia.com
  • The sender always has the responsibility that the goods have the prescribed temperature upon loading. When co-loading different types of goods it is important that the product has a temperature reserve before loading, i.e a product with maximum allowed temperature +4°C, should hold a temperature of max. +2°C
  • The driver should always check the temperature of the goods before loading
  • If possible, check the temperature in a temperature-controlled area. If the thermometer is not pre-cooled, the time for measuring will take at least 3-4 minutes
  • When there are bigger deviations in temperature, always immediately contact and inform your transport office

Instructions:

  • If possible, minimize the time used for loading and unloading. When waiting to unload, always have the cooling unit running until you have docked at the gate
  • Minimize the time when the unit is open. When unloading, work with using the thermo wall at the back of the unit to reduce cold loss
  • Never load frost sensitive goods close to the cooling unit. Always secure good air circulation inside the unit (minimum 200 mm between the top of the load and the ceiling of the trailer)
  • When not using the loading beams, do not place them all the way up to the ceiling since they will obstruct the air circulation
  • When not using the thermos wall, do not place the thermo wall in front of the outflow of the cooling unit
  • When using the thermo wall, use the loading stanchion on both sides of the thermo wall to enable a good air circulation
  • Check the plastic wrapping around the pallet so it is not wrapped too low and thereby obstructing the air circulation
  • Do not load larger volumes of ambient goods together with chilled goods in the same temperature zone on the unit

Instructions:

  • Check twice so that you are setting the correct setpoints for the correct temperature zone on the unit. Check also that the cooling unit starts correctly
  • The cooling unit should always be set on continuous mode

Recommended setpoints:
Frozen -23°C, Chilled +2°C (in summertime, other period +3°C) Ambient +15°C

Normally in the setpoint display:

  • C1= front of the unit
  • C2 = rear of the unit
