Frigoscandia increases its service offering –

acquires Götene Kyltransporter AB

Frigoscandia AB has signed an agreement to acquire all shares in Götene Kyltransporter AB. The acquisition of Götene Kyltransporter is Frigoscandia’s second in 2022 as Polar Frakt AS in Norway was acquired earlier this year. Approval from the Swedish Competition Authority is required before a change of ownership takes effect.

Frigoscandia is the market leader in temperature-controlled food logistics in the Nordics with the strategy to offer complete Supply-Chain Management services to the food industry. Within the framework of this strategy, Frigoscandia will now be strengthening its logistics network through this acquisition.

For many years, Götene Kyltransporter has been a strategic partner for Frigoscandia. Through the acquisition, the joint customer offer will be developed for storage and transport services.

– Götene Kyltransporter operates in an important food logistic region. The acquisition will further strengthen Frigoscandia’s presence in this strategic region, which will increase our service to both companies’ customers, says Peter Haveneth, CEO at Frigoscandia.

– It feels very positive for us to now be part of the Frigoscandia Group. Our industry’s transition towards fossil-free logistics is important, where we now together with Frigoscandia can accelerate our common efforts in this area, says Ulf Johansson, owner of Götene Kyltransporter.

– Götene Kyltransporter marks the second add-on for Frigoscandia under Mutares ownership in less than a year and demonstrates our ambition of cementing and expanding Frigoscandia’s position as the leading temperature-controlled logistics platform in the Nordics, says Marcus Österberg, Senior Investment Manager, Mutares SE & Co. KGaA.

After the acquisition, Frigoscandia will have a total of 15 warehouses, and over 250 vehicles in its owned subsidiaries, Götene Kyltransporter, Svebol Logistics, and Frigoscandia Åkeri.
